Theory of creation vs consumption

There’s this theory which floated for some time and I acted and thought about it.

Theory states that people will feel good about themselves when the ratio of creation is greater than the consumption. Consumption in this context is media consumption and creation is creativity which is separate from your normal bounds of work.

Theory actually is true. At very surface level though. For hyper critical or self deprecating people, the purpose and the quality of creation will matter as well. When people act just for the sake of creating and if their conscious tells them it is rubbish, this won’t go as intended. I think it’s about how people perceive themselves also.

There’s a huge merit and demerit in this. What do you think?

If you ask me, I like the concept. Most of the times, I can positively critique my work and work to do better around what’s good and what needs improvement. But sometimes I judge too hard.
